NYPD Invisible Faces

We created an initiative that turns faceless mannequins of storefront windows into media to help find missing persons. We started with Patrick Alford's case. A 13-year-old boy that has been missing for 6 years. By replacing a generic mannequin's face of a high foot traffic store window, with a sculpted version of Patrick’s face, we put his case back into the spotlight. Other stores can now be part of the initiative to help find other missing persons.

The mannequin had the same measurements as Patrick would have today and we painted it to match his skin tone. We dressed it with a red t-shirt and blue jeans, which were the clothes that Patrick was last seen wearing. Information such as last place and time seen, age and contact number, were displayed next to the mannequin.

Website

We created a website where people could learn more about the case, and stores everywhere can sponsor a mannequin to help find other missing persons.

Making-Of

Based on a rendering of Patrick as a 13-year-old boy, we got a sculptor to recreate his face, highlighting all the important details such as the scar he has in his left eyebrow and his protruding ears.
